Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me."

Matthew 19:14
On each of Second’s six campuses, there is a wall in the SecondKids area that is decorated with the handprints of children. After a child prays to receive Christ and meets with a pastor, a baptism date is set. As soon as possible after the scheduled baptism, the child is invited to place his/her handprint on the wall along with their first name and baptism date. It is a great visual and a clear testimony to the importance we place on children and our ministry to them and their families. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me” (Matthew 19:14) – and this verse was selected, along with a child’s handprint, as graphic representations of what the new Children’s Building will help us accomplish in the lives of the children who will attend school or church on this campus in the coming years.

Make Your Mark is a two-year, $36.5 million capital campaign to design and construct the new four-story Children’s Building on the Woodway Campus. This vital campaign, which officially launched in November 2021, was created to meet the ministry and educational goals of Second Baptist Church and Second Baptist School. How exciting it has been to watch the construction progress and envision the completed building and the impact it will have on the lives of children and families in this and future generations. The countdown is now underway for an August 27 Grand Opening, and planning continues for a smooth transition into this new “home” for our Second Kids Ministry and our Lower School students.
